See Emily Fly is the first of a series of narrative paintings in oil.

Based loosely on past experiences of  my life, including early onset Parkinson's Disease; I have been studying a few of the "Old Masters" who developed serious illnesses in later life and how it affected their work or perception.

Salvador Dali, Mervyn Peake,  and many, many others had Parkinson's Disease.  Did you know that Hitler was a painter with PD?

Vincent van Gough ~ severe depression
Michaelangelo  ~ gout and depression
De Kooning ~ alzheimer's

to be continued as the list goes on.

Could the cause of all those melancholy Pre-raphaelite paintings and romantic poems be caused by illness due to lead and pigment; or the opiates and potions taken to cure their inflictions.

Meanwhile I keep paintin
